Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai organization was established by the late
Shinken Taira (1897-1970) in 1955.
Shinken Taira was a successor of Moden Yabiku (1878-1941), Yamane Ryu style, who established the "Ryukyu Kobujutsu Kenkyo Kai".
Shinken Taira traveled to Tokyo in 1922 and came back to Okinawa in 1940. Since the interest in Ryukyu Kobujutsu art were decline at that time, Taira sensei has decided to dedicate himself to preserve and promote the Okinawa's civil combative legacy and established the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai organization.
Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai association had gained the support and appreciation of notable Chinen Sanda's studentes (Yamane ryu): Higa Raisuke, Higa Seiichiro, Higa Jinsaburo, Akamine Yohei as well as other well known teachers from deferent styles (Karate and Kobujutsu) as Chibana Choshin, Shimabukuru Tatsuo, Higa Yuchoku, Shimabukuru Eizo, Higa Seiko, Chinen Masami, Nagamine Shoshin, Uechi Kanei, Yagi Meitoku, Sokon Hohan, Miyazato Eiichi, Miyahira Katsuya, Kinjo Hiroshi, Fukuchi Seiko, Nakazato Shugoro, Nakamura Shigeru, Toguchi Seikitchi and the list is long.
The above community contains and aggregates many different styles as Yamaneryu, Shorinryu, Gojuryu, Isshinryu, Shobayashiryu, Kobayashiryu, Matsubayashiryu, Uechiryu, Matsumura Shorinryu and Shuri shorinryu.
Akamine Eisuke (1925-1999), Taira Shinken's most senior disciple, had succeeded Taira Shinken sensei and became to the second president of Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai . Akamine sensei established the Shinbukan in Tomishiro (1971) in honor to his late sensei, Taira Shinken.
After Dai Sensei has left us and passed a way the organization has got a decision that
Akamine Hiroshi (1954), his son, will succeed his father and will be the third president of Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai.
